Description Maintenance Technician – Kalix8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with on-call rotation for nights/weekends40 hours per week An employee in this position will be responsible for providing preventative/regular maintenance to KALIX facilities, buildings, equipment, and grounds. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Under the direction and supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor duties may include, but not limited to: Repair and/or maintain doors, floors, windows, partitions, roofs, and parts of buildings. Repair and/or maintain water and heating systems as directed. Repair and maintain electrical appliances and equipment as required. Repair surface by stripping, sanding, and re-staining or varnishing, or painting equipment and buildings. Repair and maintain vehicles and attachments. Assist licensed servicemen in repairing/replacing/maintaining equipment when their licensed trade is required to perform the operation. Assist and/or determine the necessity for calling in a licensed service person for needed maintenance and/or repairs and assist in the acquiring of such personnel. Operate facility vehicles/equipment with appropriate attachments in the process of snow removal, grass mowing, picking up and delivery of materials and grounds upkeeping. To keep and provide required written records pertaining to maintenance, equipment, buildings, and individuals. Provide training in proper use, adjustment, and maintenance of specific equipment to staff and residents. Have access to a vehicle that can be used to transport equipment (lawn mowers, tools, etc.) from site to site. Supervise the work of temporary helpers, volunteers, and/or clients, as assigned and ensure that proper procedures are followed in the performance of the duties they are required or assigned to do. Perform other duties as required or assigned. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED Certificate. Education, training, and experience that would enable an individual to perform assigned duties with the skill necessary to ensure safe and satisfactory work completion. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Working knowledge of methods, practices, tools, equipment, and materials used in building, grounds, equipment and general maintenance repair work and upkeep. The ability to communicate both orally and in writing. The ability to perform manual labor. The ability to determine priorities and follow or set workflow. The ability to supervise volunteers, staff and/or clients.
