We are currently seeking an outstanding Quality of Life Specialist/Resident Assistant to join our team. SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES The General Maintenance person is responsible for maintaining all aspects of the physical plant. Conducting under supervisor direction, preventive maintenance, routine servicing, seasonal repairs and changes, building equipment and plumbing repairs. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Performs general maintenance duties, such as: fixing wall covers, floor covers and some furniture and fixtures; light plumbing work, minor electrical repair and appliance repairs. Completes assigned work orders daily according to work order system policy. Performs routine preventive maintenance, as directed by supervisor. Installs locks, creates keys, re-key cylinders, and tracks outstanding keys for entire campus. Troubleshoot and install PERS call system. Installs phone, cable, and network lines. Fixes plumbing and lighting fixtures. Tests, fixes, install, and replace appliances. Troubleshoots heating and cooling systems. Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor. Hangs pictures, moves furniture, and assists residents with daily non-health care needs. KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY Must have effective communication skills, both oral and written. Must be skilled in the use of all appropriate machinery, tools, and construction supplies. Must have an understanding of general construction and engineering practices.
