Description Greenleaf Grain is looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician Lead to keep our grain elevator and facility equipment running at full capacity. This is a hands-on, technical role focused on diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and structural issues across our operation. You will be the go-to person when something needs to be fixed and the key reason it stays fixed. What You’ll Do Equipment Repair and Maintenance • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues with grain handling equipment including legs, conveyors, augers, drag chains, and aeration systems • Perform preventive maintenance on motors, bearings, belts, gearboxes, and related components • Troubleshoot equipment failures and implement timely, effective repairs to minimize downtime • Maintain and repair grain dryers, fans, and temperature monitoring systems Facility and Structural Maintenance • Perform general facility maintenance including welding, fabrication, and structural repairs • Maintain and repair electrical systems, lighting, and control panels • Identify and address safety hazards related to equipment or facility infrastructure • Assist with seasonal preparation of the facility for harvest operations Documentation and Communication • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment service history • Communicate equipment status and repair needs clearly to operations staff and leadership • Identify recurring issues and recommend long-term solutions or equipment upgrades Team Leadership • Provide day-to-day oversight of Elevator Operators, offering guidance and support to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently • Coordinate scheduling and oversight of seasonal harvest help at designated locations, ensuring adequate coverage and proper onboarding to site expectations Safety and Compliance • Follow all company safety protocols and OSHA requirements • Work safely around grain dust, heights, confined spaces, and energized equipment • Participate in required safety training and maintain relevant certifications Requirements What We’re Looking For • 2 or more years of maintenance or mechanical experience, preferably in an agricultural, industrial, or grain handling environment • Working knowledge of electrical systems, motors, and controls • Welding and fabrication skills (preferred) • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and schematics • Strong troubleshooting skills and a self-directed work style • Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in variable weather conditions • Valid driver’s license required; reliable transportation needed ? Willingness to travel to other company locations to support maintenance needs as needed Work Environment This role involves regular physical activity in an active grain elevator environment. You can expect exposure to dust, noise, heights, and seasonal weather. Overtime and extended hours may be required during harvest season.
