As a Maintenance Technician Lead, you’ll join a dynamic team committed to strengthening the world’s energy systems to make them more resilient, efficient, and reliable. Based at our global headquarters in Houston, TX, the Maintenance Technician Lead will have the primary responsibility for reactive and preventive maintenance of the equipment and the facility, establishing and following safe maintenance work practices, and regulatory compliance of maintenance. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Coordination Coach and mentor shift maintenance technicians, assign tasks, and monitor performance. Provide necessary training as required. In collaboration with production supervisors and site maintenance staff, coordinate daily maintenance activities to ensure timely and efficient execution. Serve as the primary point of contact for equipment-related issues during production shifts. Equipment Maintenance Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on semiconductor and/or equivalent manufacturing equipment (e.g., vacuum and plasma deposition, furnace operations, vapor deposition, Laser cutting, plating, metrology). Lead preventive maintenance (PM) programs and ensure compliance with schedules. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and downtime. Process Improvement Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify and implement equipment and process improvements. Analyze equipment failure trends and recommend solutions to reduce recurrence. Support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Safety & Compliance Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and environmental regulations. Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the maintenance team. Maintain compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements Adhere to all company safety policies such as LOTO, Hot Work, Working at Heights, Electrical Distribution, etc. Inventory & Documentation Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement of maintenance supplies in collaboration with Supply Chain. Update and maintain equipment documentation, including manuals, schematics, and maintenance logs. Use company Document Management System. Use company CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for coordinating and documenting all maintenance activities. Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree or technical certification in electronics, mechanical engineering, or related field Minimum 5 years of experience in semiconductor or equivalent equipment maintenance, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Preferred Qualifications: CMRT (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician) Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of semiconductor or equivalent manufacturing equipment and processes. Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Proficiency in vacuum processes and leak detection. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Effective communication and team leadership abilities. Member of the Emergency Response Team Work Environment Climate controlled manufacturing environment. May involve standing, bending, and lifting heavy equipment. Frequent lifting/carrying/moving of up to 10 pounds will be needed and, in some instances, lifting/carrying/moving up to 50 pounds will be required, Manually transport a load up to 75 lbs., applying up to 100-foot pounds of torque. The ability to adjust vision focus from near to far and peripheral is needed as well as the ability to distinguish the difference in colors. Technicians must be clean-shaven to successfully complete the Fit Test and are required to maintain this grooming standard upon their start date. This is essential for the effective use of an Air Purifying Respirator (APR) during specific tasks, ensuring a safe work environment.
