MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Required-High school diploma or equivalent
• Required-At least 2 years of facility maintenance related expereince
• Required-Valid Hawai’i drivers license and current auto insurance

SKILLS:

Must be detail-oriented, able to work independently, and manage tasks to meet deadlines. Requires knowledge of building and facility maintenance practices, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to pass annual traffic and drug testing. Training in HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical/electrical maintenance is preferred

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Maintenance Technician I supports the upkeep of HICHC buildings and grounds by performing routine building, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs, operating specialized equipment, and delivering interfacility mail as scheduled.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follows a preventive building maintenance program, as implemented by the Director of Facilities for HICHC facilities and maintains records on preventive maintenance.
• Alters and completes minor repairs of facilities as directed and ensures that all completed work adheres to building code.
• Repairs structures, builds and installs cabinets, partitions, and shelves; repairs furniture and equipment, installs flooring, repairs or installs windows, doors, locks and related items.
