Description The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of manufacturing machinery, facility systems, and company vehicles through proactive maintenance and timely repairs. This role performs preventative maintenance, conducts routine inspections, and diagnoses and resolves issues across electrical, plumbing, structural, and mechanical systems. The technician responds quickly to emergency repair needs, coordinates with external vendors as necessary, and maintains accurate maintenance records. Success in this position requires strong troubleshooting skills, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to operate tools and equipment effectively. Additionally, the role supports a safe work environment by identifying hazards, communicating concerns to management, and assisting in the implementation of corrective measures while contributing to special projects and other duties as assigned. Essential Job Functions and Tasks- These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department. Plan and carry out preventive maintenance activities for manufacturing machinery, facility equipment, and company vehicles to minimize operational downtime. Diagnose and resolve maintenance issues related to electrical systems, plumbing, structural components, and equipment repairs or replacements. Maintain and complete scheduled daily, weekly, and monthly inspections and maintenance logs for building systems and equipment. Perform both routine and complex repairs on facility structures and equipment. Respond promptly to urgent maintenance situations and emergency repair requests. Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for preventive maintenance and equipment repair projects. Operate tools, machinery, and equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures. Utilize hand tools and manual dexterity to handle equipment, materials, controls, and maintenance tasks. Identify and communicate maintenance concerns or safety issues to Management. Evaluate workplace hazards and assist in implementing risk reduction measures. Carry out additional duties and special projects as directed by management. Requirements Work Environment This work environment is a manufacturing plant with moderate noise, dust, fumes inside and outdoors in all weather conditions. Physical Exertion: The incumbent may be required to lift approximately 100 pounds without restrictions or limitations. Ability to stand for extended periods. Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and other manufacturing conditions. Vision: The incumbent must possess close, midrange, distance, and peripheral vision; as well as the ability to identify colors, judge distances and adjust focus. Speaking/Hearing: The incumbent must be able to give and receive information through speaking and listening. Motor Coordination: The incumbent in this position is frequently required to: use their hands and reach with their hands and arms. The incumbent is periodically required to: sit. The incumbent is occasionally required to: stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, crouch or bend. Required Education and Experience High school diploma (or equivalent) is required. 2+ years of hands-on experience in facility, industrial, or maintenance roles, including preventative maintenance and equipment repair. Experience using tools and following safety procedures, with the ability to respond quickly to urgent repairs in a fast-paced environment. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical or building systems with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve items. Ability to follow OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Highly motivated individual with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact across all organizational levels. Capable of handling multiple priorities and adapting in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Must successfully pass a background check and drug test.
