POSITION SUMMARY

Automation Personnel Services is recruiting a Maintenance Technician Manager to lead plant maintenance for our client’s Garrett, IN facility. This leader will own preventive/predictive maintenance, technician development, vendor coordination, and cross-functional uptime initiatives to keep a high-throughput operation running safely and efficiently.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • 5–7+ years of industrial maintenance experience; 2+ years in a lead/senior tech/supervisory capacity preferred.
  • Hands‑on proficiency with mechanical assemblies (gears, bearings, shafts), clutches/brakes, hydraulics/pneumatics, pipefitting, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
  • Experience with welding/fabrication, machining, rigging, and use of cranes/hoists.
  • Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and schematics; strong troubleshooting and sense of urgency for uptime.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s in Industrial Maintenance or related field a plus.
Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, schedule, and develop a team of maintenance technicians; ensure safe work practices (LOTO, PPE, SOPs).
  • Plan, execute, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs for production equipment and facility systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues; coordinate contractors as needed.
  • Partner with Production to minimize downtime; drive root-cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.
  • Oversee vendor management (quotes, scheduling, onsite oversight, quality sign‑off).
  • Manage spare‑parts inventory, reorder points, and cost tracking; recommend critical spares.
  • Support equipment installs, alignments, rigging, rebuilds; read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
  • Ensure complete CMMS/work‑order documentation, time reporting, and safety/quality records; track KPIs (MTBF/MTTR, backlog).
