MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (MECHANICAL)

Job Description
Chemring Energetics UK (CEUK) is a global business providing a range of equipment based on energetic materials for defence, civil defence and key commercial customers.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within CEUK for a Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) to assist the site Maintenance Department with managing the mechanical maintenance works across the business.
The Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) will assist the Maintenance Department to diagnose and repair mechanical equipment breakdowns and perform planned preventative maintenance tasks.

Key Accountabilities & Duties:

  • Carry out all activities in full compliance with H&SE legislation, within company policy and procedure.
  • Responsible for reporting any unsafe acts or unsafe conditions observed (using the Near Miss System) in accordance with responsibilities under the Health and Safety at work Act.
  • Carry out mechanical Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Corrective Maintenance (CM) and Reactive Maintenance (RM) to production equipment and mechanical infrastructure.
  • Fault diagnosis and root cause analysis
  • Work in accordance with site procedures, engineering standards and relevant legislation
  • Utilisation of the site Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) system for all maintenance works
  • Ensure all work is carried out in a safe manner and is to the required standard of workmanship.
  • Work in accordance with the site permit to work system

Qualifications/ Experience:

  • HNC or equivalent in mechanical discipline
  • Ability to diagnose faults on mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment
  • Good working knowledge of maintenance practice, MTBF, condition monitoring etc.
  • Experience in a mechanical maintenance role
