JOB DESCRIPTION:

Opal Foods LLC is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Mechanic with a strong mechanical and electrical background, including PLC troubleshooting experience, to join our team in Roggen, CO. This role is essential for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of our manufacturing equipment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in mechanical systems, electrical troubleshooting (up to 480V), and PLC diagnostics to support efficient plant operations.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in manufacturing maintenance (food manufacturing preferred; egg industry experience a plus).
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills in a production environment.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical systems, electrical controls, VFD’s, and PLC troubleshooting.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical system failures efficiently.
  • Proficiency in reading electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Trade/Technical school or Millwright certification preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on production equipment.
  • Work with PLC systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens, GE) for troubleshooting only—no programming required.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical systems, including conveyors, motors, bearings, and gearboxes.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues including sensors, relays, motor controls, and circuits (up to 480V).
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and ladder logic programs.
  • Utilize software interface tools for Allen Bradley and GE PLCs, as well as Windows-based applications.
  • Perform fabrication and welding as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain maintenance records using Microsoft Office and other basic computer applications.
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays as required by business needs.
