Based in Sydney International Airport, you will be part of one of the leading suppliers in warehousing automated solutions and the global market leader for value-added logistics process automation at airports and in the parcel market.
This role is part of our Australian service organisation and you will form part of a well-oiled maintenance team in one of the most automated baggage handling solutions. Our main goal in the Vanderlande Service team, is to ensure that our equipment delivers the best possible operational output for our valued customers.
Role Description
As a Service Technician (Shift), your role within the team is to undertake preventative and corrective maintenance on a baggage handling system incorporating automated storage cranes and specialised transport systems. This is a full-time on-site role incorporating 12hr shifts on a 24/7 roster located at Sydney International Airport. The Service Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and troubleshooting of the automated baggage and storage system. Tasks may include but not limited to conducting maintenance inspections, diagnosing and repairing systems, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Qualifications
- Australian Trade qualification with Cert III in Electrotechnology or Engineering Mechanical
- Must have at least 3 to 5 years relevant working experience as Service Engineer/Technician.
- Strong electrical or mechanical background working on industrial equipment.
- Dual Trade Certificate (electrical and mechanical) highly regarded.
- Industrial controls understanding (PLC’s, VFD’s, HMI’s and SCADA systems) with proven controls background, highly regarded.
Experience
- Highly Regarded
- Experience in logistics, postal sorting and baggage handling systems.
- Experience with maintaining mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Experience with automation (conveyors and sortation systems)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
- Understanding of OH&S requirements and safe work behaviour
- Ability to work alone and make decisions
- Excellent communication skills

Position Requirements
- Successfully obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card for Sydney Airport.
- Criminal checks are required as part of this process.
- ID checks will be performed to verify work entitlements in Australia
- Fully vaccinated for COVID-19
- Pass Pre Employment medical examination including drug and alcohol testing
