Overview Allweather Wood Company (AWW) is seeking an experienced Millwright to join their maintenance team in Woods Cross, Utah! To learn more about our benefits click Here Allweather Wood is the largest producer and distributor of waterborne preservative treated wood products in the Western USA. Operating six wood preserving plants in California, Colorado, Oregon, Utah, and Washington, these state-of-the-art facilities enable year-round production of a variety of preservative systems, fire retardants and wood species, including Douglas-fir, Hem fir, and Southern Yellow Pine. With support from two full-service distribution centers in California, Allweather Wood partners with home improvement retailers, lumberyards, and building material dealers to bring a full range of preservative and fire-retardant lumber and plywood products to market. Responsibilities The Millwright is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of sawmill machinery and mechanical equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This role involves inspecting, assembling, aligning, and maintaining mechanical systems such as conveyors, saws, motors, hydraulic systems, and other production machinery. The Millwright works closely with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime, maintain safety standards, and ensure all equipment operates at peak performance. Maintain and repair equipment and /or rolling stock including trucks, forklift, and heavy equipment. Perform preventive maintenance on vehicles, including cleaning, inspecting, testing, operating , and checking fluids levels, change the oil, and checking tire pressures: add fluids, lubricate fittings, and change tires as needed. Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment Dismantle defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts Set up and operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools Strictly follow and abide by all safety rules and policies Qualifications High School diploma or general education degree (GED) Three years related experience and/or training Wood Handling / Manufacturing experience a plus Must maintain and carry a valid driver license and remain eligible and capable of operating vehicles in accordance with company policy guidelines Background in preventive maintenance Ability to read and interpret documents (safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
