Description

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our fenestration (glazing) team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment across multiple manufacturing lines, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency. This includes glass processing equipment, CNC systems, robotics, and fabrication tooling.

Responsibilities
  • Glass, Tempering, Cutting, and Assembly Lines
    · Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs on glass lines, tempering ovens, cutting tables, and assembly stations.
    · Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and automation-related issues.
    · Calibrate sensors, controls, and safety devices to maintain precision in production.
    · Document work performed and track machine downtime for continuous improvement.
    PLC, Electrical, Pneumatic, and High Voltage Systems
    · Troubleshoot and program PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar) to support automated line operation.
    · Maintain and repair electrical control panels, sensors, actuators, and pneumatic systems.
    · Work safely with high-voltage equipment following CSA/OHSA standards.
    · Ensure compliance with electrical codes and plant safety policies.
    CNC Machines, Robotics, and Tooling
    · Provide technical support for CNC saws, cutting tables, and machining centres used in window and door fabrication.
    · Troubleshoot and maintain robotic systems used in assembly and handling.
    · Replace, sharpen, and calibrate fabrication tooling to ensure consistent quality.
    · Work with operators to optimize CNC programming for efficiency and accuracy.
    Metal Fabrication (CNC Brake Press and General Maintenance)
    · Operate and maintain CNC brake presses used for aluminum and steel profile bending.
    · Troubleshoot hydraulic, mechanical, and software issues on fabrication equipment.
    · Support welding, cutting, and machining equipment used in frame and sash production.
    · Recommend improvements to reduce tool wear and improve precision.
    Planned Maintenance and General Equipment (Including Forklift)
    · Follow preventive maintenance schedules across all departments.
    · Perform inspections and minor repairs on forklifts and material-handling equipment.
    · Coordinate with production to schedule downtime for planned service activities.
    · Maintain accurate maintenance logs and support compliance with safety audits.
    Qualifications
    · Minimum 3–5 years of experience in maintenance within a manufacturing or fenestration environment.
    · Strong knowledge of PLC troubleshooting, electrical systems, pneumatics, and robotics.
    · Experience with CNC machinery, fabrication tooling, and high-voltage systems.
    · Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
    · Familiarity with CSA, OHSA, and industry safety standards.
    · Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
