- Position Title: Maintenance Technician, part-time (6 month contract, with possibility of extension)

The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine seeks a hard working, highly skilled individual for a six (6) month contract position of Maintenance Technician on a part-time basis.
Reporting to the Manager of Maintenance and Security, this position will be responsible for providing maintenance services to the College to ensure the daily operation and allocation of physical resources in keeping with the goals and objectives of an environmentally conscientious workplace. Specific duties will include: conducting minor repairs in the areas of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical including HVAC; conducting minor repairs to physical resources and portable assets; replacing light ballasts; assisting with outside maintenance as required; drywalling, painting and other renovations; relocation of material assets; serving on the Emergency Response Team; performing daily upkeep of inventory and tools and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of three years general maintenance experience, preferably in an institutional setting
- Experience safely operating maintenance equipment including table saws, grinders, miter saws and pipe cutters
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical and mechanical repair and systems
- Working knowledge of painting and plaster work
- Working knowledge of HVAC
- Completion of a recognized building maintenance certificate program or equivalent experience
- Able to utilize relevant computer software programs, including CMMS systems.
- Ability to complete room set up both with the team and alone
- Able to meet the physical demands of the primary functions of the position including standing, walking,
- crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads and exposure to outside weather conditions, including snow shoveling
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays
