Overview Summary/Objective The Facilities Technician position maintains and oversees the company grounds, buildings, and equipment to ensure that a workspace is safe and functional. The duties include coordinating with the facilities team on contracts with service providers, inspecting facilities to meet safety regulations, and coordinating renovations and updates. This is a part-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday. Hours of work are flexible, generally during morning/afternoon. Some before and after hours work and being on-call is expected based on needs of the facility will be a requirement. Responsibilities Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Main point of contact for alarms and responds promptly to emergencies Performs routine maintenance on facilities and makes repairs as needed. Schedules preventative facility maintenance with vendors. Oversees and supervises the quality of work by vendors and contractors. Documents vendor appointments and maintenance performed Meets weekly with the facilities team to ensure all projects remain on schedule. Ensures cleanliness and safety of interior and exterior areas. Ensures facilities are prepared for inclement weather. Collaborates with the facilities team to ensure facilities’ needs are met timely. Perform repairs according to work orders or verbal instructions while identifying and ordering parts/components needed to complete the task. Work with vendors, contractors, and onsite staff to ensure all repairs are completed successfully. Performs basic plumbing/electrical repairs including but not limited to: changing light bulbs, replacing ballasts, and installing outlets/fixtures. Perform carpentry and minor construction projects including but not limited to: installing and/or repairing drywall, carpet tiles, cabinetry, countertops, shelves, and paint. Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment including but not limited to: debris/trash removal, heavy lifting/moving of materials and furniture, floor sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no direct supervisory responsibility. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones. This role occasionally operates machinery and performs tasks outdoors, and during inclement weather. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand for long periods of time; use hands to lift equipment, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to stoop or kneel and must be able to climb a ladder. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Strong attention to detail. Qualifications Required Education and Experience High school diploma. One year of administrative experience.
