Description POSITION SUMMARY: Performs routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on YMCA buildings, mechanical equipment and other property. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment. Replaces broken windows; repairs doors, door locks; installs window blinds. Installs flooring of all types Install and repair plumbing fixtures including but not limited to toilets, sinks, and urinals. Installs electrical wiring and equipment; replace and repair lighting fixtures and ballast. Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required. Assists with the renovation/remodeling of buildings; repairs plaster and drywall; interior and exterior painting Responsible for upholding all staff safety requirements including cleaning protocols throughout the day, as required by my department. Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Minimum of 2-3 years of responsible experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair; or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience. Good skill in the use of hand and power tools. Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance related areas. Adhere to drug/alcohol/smoke free workplace policy Able to prioritize and meet deadlines Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Successfully complete State of Florida Criminal History Background Check requirements as well as meet the Association’s policies on background screening CERTIFICATIONS AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: CPR and First Aid Certifications required Annual Completion of YMCA Blood Borne Pathogens Training Annual Completion of YMCA Child Sexual Abuse Prevention class Staff Safety Requirements/Cleaning Protocols Additional training classes as recommended by Supervisor WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
