OUR CURRENT VACANCIES ARE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS

  • Newbury
    We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join us as part of a small team on a 6 month fixed term contract. In this role you will provide skilled support in all matters relating to the maintenance and repair of premises for Prior’s Court.
    The Maintenance Technician will carry out general maintenance and repairs within all areas of Prior’s Court to ensure that the facilities, equipment and buildings are maintained to a high standard minimising disruption to Prior’s Court users.
    You must be available to work weekends and evenings as per the team rota. 38 hours per week, 4 days on 3 days off Early and Late shifts (6am-4pm) or (11am-9pm) and alternate weekends.
    Please Note: A full UK driving licence is required due to our location.

  • To ensure safe working practices are adhered to.
  • To ensure an effective response to day to day breakdown repairs minimising disruption to Prior’s Court users.
  • To carry out general maintenance and repairs within all areas of Priors Court. Typical work incudes basic carpentry work, painting and decorating, ‘making good’ & ‘making safe’ repairs to the building fabric, fixtures and fittings and basic construction tasks.
  • Carry out miscellaneous duties of a practical nature as circumstances demand or at the reasonable request of the Maintenance Supervisor, Facilities Manager and Estates Manager.

Qualifications/experience
Experience within a maintenance role is required but Qualifications are not essential, a recognised mechanical & electrical (M&E) qualification, such Electrics, Plumbing or Heating Engineer. Or • A recognised qualification in a construction trade, such as Carpentry, Trowel Occupations, Painting & Decorating. • Proven M&E or Construction skills • Registered Competent Person • IPAF/PASMA certificated • Portable Electrical Appliance Testing qualification

Prior’s Court was set up by Founding Patron Dame Stephanie Shirley, whose vision of a centre of excellence for children with autism became reality with the opening of Prior’s Court School in 1999. We have since grown to support around 90 young people with autism aged between 5-25 years with the opening of Prior’s Court Young Adult Provision in 2011.
Since opening, our support team has grown from around 20 to 500 and we have built a reputation as a leading edge educational, vocational, and residential facility for young people with autism. We are situated on 50 acres of parkland with various facilities including accommodation for our young people, a school with a wide range of facilities and office
