HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC CHURCH Williston, Florida   MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN Reports to: Pastor Part-time – Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday FLSA: Hourly Non-Exempt     DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Weekly * Maintain church gardens, statues, and fountain. * Mow lawn, trim, pull weeds and edge, pick up limbs, branches, pick up trash from property, and keep gutters & down spouts clear of debris on all church grounds. * Use blower to keep parking areas & church entrances clear of debris. * Vacuum carpets, mop floors in church, hall and classrooms, wipe and clean windows, and empty all trash receptacles (church and classrooms) every day. * Clean restrooms every Monday & following ceremonies. * Clean & organize parish hall kitchen. * Clean Angel House bathroom and restock supplies. * Check water softener well and add salt as needed. * Report any issues that need repair to the Pastor. Quarterly * Trim hedges on all church properties. * Report and manage maintenance needs on lawn mower or other equipment and request needed inventory and supplies. Monthly * Replace light bulbs in church, parish hall, and classrooms. * Storm preparations and restoration. * Maintain A/C areas. Annually * Check water hoses and replace, if necessary (one at each faucet). * Change batteries in fire alarm and clocks. * Pressure wash all sidewalks. * On occasion, you may be asked to do other additional maintenance jobs to meet unforeseen circumstances or problems. * As needed, may be asked to work additional hours for events, etc.     KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES * Prior maintenance experience a plus. * Ability to meet physical demands of the job. * Written and verbal communication skills. * Effective problem-solving abilities. * Familiar with operation of a zero-turn mower. * Strong focus to carry out and complete a task in a timely fashion is essential. * Project and goal oriented.     LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret safety/warning labels. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, employees, and the general public.   MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.   REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.     PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
