Description Summary Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in St. Joseph, MO has an immediate opening for a part-time parish Maintenance Technician. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintenance, cleanliness, repair and upkeep of parish facilities. The position will perform routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and minor construction work as well as setting up spaces for events and activities. The position ensures facilities are safe, functional and well maintained to support the mission and ministries of the Catholic Church. This position is part time averaging 25 hours per week. Essential Duties · Perform general maintenance, renovation and repair work for parish facilities, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems · Conduct preventive maintenance and safety inspections, addressing issues promptly · Monitor and coordinate cleanliness of facilities with contracted janitorial service provider · As assigned, coordinate or oversee seasonal workers, volunteers, or outside contractors · Maintain an organized inventory of maintenance supplies, tools and equipment, including any safety requirements (i.e. MSDS sheets) · Monitor and ensure all buildings comply with safety codes · Ensure all work areas and parish grounds are clean, orderly and safe for visitors, staff, volunteers, and parishioners · Collaborate with the Business Manager on facility needs, budgets, safety concerns and repair priorities · Available after hours to receive and respond to emergency calls relating to the parish facilities · Complete all required documentation and reports in a timely manner Qualifications · High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or trade school training preferred · Certifications or licensure in work-related areas preferred – i.e. mechanical, electrical, etc. · Minimum three years of experience in building or facility maintenance · Experience with Microsoft Office products preferred – primarily Outlook, Word, Excel · Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds occasionally · Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures or instructions · Knowledge or familiarity of Catholic parish operations preferred Note: All employees are required to consent to a background check, commit to our Code of Conduct policy, and complete online and in-person training prior to hire.
