JOB TITLE: MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Location: Rosderra Irish Meats Group, Jamestown, Co. Leitrim

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Rosderra Irish Meats Group is Ireland’s leading pork processor, with plants located throughout the country. At our Jamestown site, we operate a modern meat processing facility focused on delivering high-quality products to domestic and international markets. We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team to help maintain equipment and ensure the smooth running of operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Trades Qualification: Relevant mechanical or electrical qualification required.
  • Additional mechanical or engineering certifications are a plus.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar maintenance role, ideally in a food processing or manufacturing environment.
  • Maintenance Fitter Craft Certificate or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge – ability to service and repair a wide range of machinery.
  • Occasional availability to do mandatory overtime.

SKILLS:

  • Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
Responsibilities

· Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on all plant equipment and machinery (e.g., Curing Equipment, Food Packaging Machinery, Conveyors, HVAC equipment, Pneumatics, Hydraulics etc.)

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical faults to minimize downtime.
  • Work closely with production teams to ensure machinery operates at optimum performance.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and safety reviews.
  • Adhere to health & safety procedures and regulations at all times.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records.
