The Maintenance Technician ensures dynamometer equipment is operating effectively and efficiently. This role is responsible for the troubleshooting and repair of dynamometers and related control systems and hardware. The Maintenance Technician develops and maintains strong working relationships by working closely with dynamometer technicians, engineers and supervisors. The position is in Allen Park, MI. Responsibilities as a Maintenance Technician: Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, including dynamometers and other associated support hardware, using precision test instruments to troubleshoot issues Adjust functional parts of machines and control instruments, diagnose and maintain electrical systems Maintain equipment, parts, and supply inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance on dynamometers and control systems Remove defective parts by dismantling dynamometer hardware, using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions, responding to requests and completing required documentation Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations Qualifications for a Maintenance Technician: High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 1 year of commercial or industrial machine maintenance or equivalent military experience Ability to diagnose and solve electrical and computer software and hardware issues related to the dynamometers Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail Excellent communication skills, written and verbal Knowledge of applicable safety procedures Must have own tools Preferred Skills & Experience: Experience with emissions testing equipment - AVL or Horiba Strong electrical and mechanical skills Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends Our full-time benefits include: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, earned sick time, STD, LTD, 401K, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation, paid holidays, and more.
