Description

Second City Housing are currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Person who has a generic background in all fields of maintenance to work at multiple sites.
As the Maintenance Person you will positively promote excellent health and safety standards within and around our homes, supporting the Housing Manager to maintain a safe environment for our residents and will provide an efficient, cost effective, good quality repairs and maintenance service for all properties we manage. The Maintenance Officer will play a key role in the day to day delivery of the repairs and maintenance service .

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Daily duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for carrying out a range of routine building maintenance and repair jobs, with minimum disruption to the care of the home
  • Accountable for compliance with the Health and Safety At Work Act, COSHH, service contract and inspections.
  • general plumbing and electrics, plastering and decorating and carpentry skills are essential.

SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Practical maintenance experience covering minor repairs such as carpentry, painting and plumbing, general all rounder.
  • Health and safety regulations experience and understanding
  • competent in carrying out loan working and working with vulnerable people and families.
  • Vehicle owner, van will be provided after the trial period
  • out of hours work if agreed.
  • Ability to deal with other contractors or maintenance workers
  • General Gardening preferred.
  • Willingness to attend to maintenance issues if emergencies arise
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Be flexible and work closely with management to achieve objectives
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work with a specified budget
  • Able to work as part of a team with excellent communication skills
