QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in mechanical, electrical, electronics, and general industrial technology.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic controls, shaft/coupling, welding, lubrication, drive/transmission, drive circuit, control circuit (PLC, relay logic, computer control), inverter/servo systems, machine inspection, high voltage, general devices, tooling, analysis (RCA), mechanical drawings, electrical drawings, ladder logic drawings, hydraulic / pneumatic drawings.
  • Excellent technical and operational knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic, and general industrial manufacturing equipment, machinery, and systems.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA (industrial) regulations.
  • Certified Electrician would be ideal, but not a requirement
  • Service and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Proficient in the use of mechanics’ tools, power tools, and shop equipment (drill press, grinder, etc.)
  • Ability to build relationships within a diverse workforce.
  • Can compute rates, ratios, and percentages, analyze the results, and put them into usable charts, graphs, and reports.
  • Using troubleshooting skills along with drawings, technical manuals, and RCA, find and correct abnormal states for mechanical, electrical, electronic, and general industrial equipment, machinery, and systems.
  • Must be proficient in the use of electrical/electronic test equipment such as volt/amp/ohm meters, vibration meters, thermal scanner, light meters, laser alignment tools, water analysis testing, micrometer, dial indicator, caliper, etc.
  • Must have a working knowledge of root cause analysis, PM analysis, or other analysis methods to clarify root cause and implement countermeasures based on results.
  • Understand the guidelines of STPM activity, such as BDM, TBM, PM, and CBM.
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

The maintenance technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties for production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive/productive maintenance systems/processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, inspects, assembles, disassembles, analyzes, measures, maintains, troubleshoots, and corrects all manufacturing/support equipment, machinery, and systems within the SSA plant.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs preventative and predictive maintenance on machinery and systems.
  • Repair and/or replace motors, belts, gears, and other machinery.
  • Troubleshoot electrical circuits and controls.
  • Actively utilizes SSA CMMS (computerized maintenance management software)
  • Performs facilities maintenance as required.
  • New electrical installations on equipment ≤ 480V.
  • Maintains strict 5S standards
  • Maintains the highest level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Commit to continual improvement of the environment through SSA’s suggestion program, protecting the environment and improving our environmental performance by supporting our environmental management system’s targets and objectives.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local environmental laws, regulations, and relevant compliance obligations related to the environmental aspects of SSA.
  • Comply with SSA’s Zero Emissions program.
  • Agree to prevent injury incidents by observing established working rules, following the directions of managers/supervisors, practicing the principles taught in safety training, and providing ideas so that our safety management system is improved continuously.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local occupational health and safety laws, regulations, and relevant compliance obligations related to the occupational health and safety aspects of SSA.
