Description The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting various issues to ensure the upkeep or repair of manufacturing equipment to keep the plant in peak operational status. Primary Responsibilities Has direct influence and control of plant efficiency by improving plant emergency downtime Has direct influence and control of maintenance material and inventory Maintains a clean shop and sanitary conditions Participates in routine on-call schedule Responsible for maintaining equipment files Comply with SDSP’s Safe Quality Food (SQF) food safety program and polices. Perform duties outside normal responsibilities as needed to support the team and overall organizational goals. Be a good steward of company resources Requirements Basic Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Effectively communicate with others by listening, speaking, and writing. Advanced math skills Must be able to work from schematic drawings and document process changes. Must have ability to weld with both a wire feed and stick welder Ability to troubleshoot a PLC circuit Must be able to diagnose plant operation problems as related to maintenance influences. Comply with SDSP’s Safe Quality Food (SQF) food safety program and polices. Perform duties outside normal responsibilities as needed to support the team and overall organizational goals. Physical Requirements Must Possess the Ability to Do the Following Frequently: Bend • Squat • Climb Ladders and Stairs Kneel • Stand • Walk Handle Objects • Reach Above Shoulder Level • Push/Pull Carry/Lift 25 – 50 lbs. Must Possess the Ability to Do the Following Occasionally: Crawl • Sit • Use Fine Finger Movements • Carry/Lift Over 50 lbs. Working Conditions Exposed to excessive noise Works around moving machinery Exposed to marked changes in temperature Drives motorized equipment Works on & around high structures Occasionally exposed to dust & fumes Works in confined spaces
