POSITION SUMMARY:

To provide efficient building maintenance and repairs of the facility and ensure that the essential environment services are provided on 24 hour, 7 days a week uninterrupted basis. Prioritize, coordinate and communicate operational requests and/or requirements across the organization. The technicians ensures that all systems function efficiently, safely, and in compliance with applicable regulations to provide a positive guest experience.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

· Engineering Certificate/Degree or relevant work experience required.
· Candidates should have at least 2 years of hands on experience in the following trades: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, Refrigeration.
· Ability to think independently, possess good judgment, proven problem-solving skills and effective decision-making skills.
· Ability to work unsupervised, multi-task, balance daily tasks and prioritize among a number of projects, tasks and problems.
· Experience in a hotel, large institutional, industrial or commercial plant with 7 day, 24 hour continuous operation.
· Knowledge of security codes and practices.
· WHMIS trained.
· Working at Heights (Fall Arrest) certification is an asset.
· Possesses a customer and employee friendly demeanor.
· Previous Experience working with Building Automation Systems considered an asset.

Responsibilities

· Maintain building equipment and systems in accordance with established preventative maintenance programs.
· Ensure proper scheduling through the applicable software program for preventative maintenance.
· Ability to coordinate maintenance tasks with team members on a daily basis.
· Provide purchase orders to vendors and suppliers.
· Ensure an adequate working environment to the facility’s occupants in terms of ambient temperature, humidity, ventilation, air quality and general cleanliness.
· Respond to service calls and work orders in a timely professional manner.
· Respond to emergency situations involving mechanical, electrical and plumbing system failures and assist in taking appropriate corrective action to expedite recovery.
· Assist security staff in responding to fire and safety hazard situations.
· Utilize materials and tools in accordance with inventory control procedures.
· Ensure that work sites are cleaned up after work has been completed, and that work areas are tidy and safe.
· Assist in ensuring that plumbing, HVAC and mechanical systems supporting critical systems operate within specified equipment tolerances.
· Respond to service calls and work orders in a timely, professional manner,
· Conduct daily water testing for pH, chlorine, alkalinity, temperature, etc.
· Inspect, maintain and clean pool and Spa equipment and ensure pool area complies with safety standards.
· Maintain MSDS documentation and proper handling of the chemicals.
· Participate in emergency response and safety drills.
· Assist with keeping property in first-class condition, inside and out.
· Snow removal from all property exits, fire hydrants, and walkways including power washing of areas.
· There will be shift duties (day, afternoon, night, holidays and weekends) as governed by business needs. The shift duties may also vary from time to time.
· Ensure that all log books / records are recorded and maintained.
· All other duties as assigned by the Director of Facility Operations or their designate.
