POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for assisting the Maintenance Director in maintaining all grounds, buildings, apartment homes, and equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Must express or demonstrate an interest in working with a senior population.
  • Must be capable of reading and writing the English language, preferably possessing a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must demonstrate a warm, outgoing personality.
  • Must have basic technical knowledge and mechanical ability to perform routine maintenance and repair on mechanical and electrical equipment and possess a basic knowledge of construction principles.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, performs routine maintenance duties to complete all service requests for repair and maintenance of all grounds, buildings, apartment homes, and equipment in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
  • Assists in the execution of preventative maintenance program.
  • Communicates with Maintenance Supervisor for needed technical advice, product information, research and quality assurance guidance.
  • Advises Maintenance Supervisor of the overall condition of the equipment and furnishings of the community.
  • Assists with Fire Safety and Disaster Preparedness Evacuation procedures.
  • Interacts with residents and staff in a courteous and friendly manner.
