Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign and supervise the repair or replacement of defective equipment parts, using hand and power tools; ensure proper reassembly of equipment.
  • Direct and monitor routine preventive maintenance to guarantee the smooth operation of machines and building systems.
  • Oversee the inspection and testing of machinery and equipment to identify and diagnose malfunctions.
  • Evaluate and review the type and cost of maintenance and repair work, ensuring efficiency and budget alignment.
  • Assign staff to dismantle and reassemble equipment using hoists, cranes, and tools to access and repair faulty parts.
  • Review diagnostic procedures and ensure proper corrective actions are taken by referencing blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
  • Maintain documentation of all inspections, repairs, and service records.
  • Support and enforce workplace safety practices and compliance with company standards.
  • Act as a technical lead and mentor for junior staff, providing training and guidance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Global Connect or similar dealership management systems.
  • Skilled in using the MDI GM technician tool and other diagnostic devices.
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities, including hands-on work with electronic diagnostic tools.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or collaboratively with team members.
  • Able to identify and escalate unusual or complex mechanical issues.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with service/repair documentation systems.
  • Excellent customer service orientation and a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Experience working with vehicle instrumentation and sensors.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and repair methods quickly.
  • Team-oriented with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of Intrepid Vehicle Spy tool and software.
  • Previous experience with electric vehicles (EVs) and their unique systems.
  • Demonstrated success in solving mechanical/electrical problems in new or innovative systems.
  • Previous experience with General Motors vehicles or OEM systems.

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $40.00-$45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
