Through the Wonderful Career Center (WCC) we are offering a free Maintenance Technician training as part of the Technical Opportunity Program, that combines hands-on learning, professional mentorship, and classroom-based instruction. Trainees are hired directly by the Wonderful Pistachios & Almond facility at the start of the program, providing an immediate career opportunity with one of the Central Valley’s leading employers. Job Description The Maintenance Technician Training is an intensive training opportunity, offering on-the-job training in Lost Hills, CA, alongside classroom and lab instruction at the Wonderful Career Center in Shafter, CA. The program is designed to develop technical skills and provide hands-on experience, aligning with industry standards and expectations. What You’ll Learn: This program provides a structured curriculum aligned with WP&A’s Industry Needs, including but not limited to: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Hand and power tools Schematics and symbols Electrical circuits Troubleshooting facility, I/O (Inputs & Outputs) and equipment What You’ll Gain Experience In: As a Maintenance Technician, you will gain experience in various critical areas, including: Proper usage of hand and power tools Completing facility projects Assist in troubleshooting and repairing electrical components Performing preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. 18 years of age or older Must complete an interview process to be eligible to be selected. Critical Skills and Expectations: Ability to work in a team and follow standard operating procedures. Basic math skills and entry-level computer proficiency preferred. Effective communication skills in English; bilingual Spanish speaking candidates are preferred but not required. Physical capability to handle the job's demands, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods. Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions (temperatures, dust, noise) with appropriate safety equipment provided. Candidates with foundational skills, including basic machine operation, tool identification, and familiarity with safety protocols preferred. Similar industrial, manufacturing, or maintenance environment is preferred. Additional Information Program Start Date: January 27th, 2026 Work Hours: Will vary; at training location Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
