Maintenance Technician Department: Maintenance Employment Type: Part Time Location: Dexter, Mi Reporting To: Jim Bielicki Compensation: $19.10 - $23.35 / hour Description Schedule: Part Time | rotating 16 and 24 hours per week, 40 hours per pay period | 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Department: Environmental Services | Cedars of Dexter | Dexter, MI What You'll Do In This Role: Be a key part of keeping our community safe, secure, and running smoothly. As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll help maintain the grounds, facility, and equipment in top condition. From routine upkeep to addressing repair needs, your work supports a clean, functional, and secure environment for everyone on site. You’ll play an essential role in upholding regulatory standards and facility policies while making a visible, everyday impact through hands-on work and problem-solving. Key Responsibilities Maintenance and Repairs Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment, including plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical work, as directed and in accordance with established procedures. Service heating and cooling units/systems, as specified by the manufacturer, and in compliance with established policies and procedures. Perform occasional maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc., by cutting, trimming, policing, sweeping, removing snow, and salting, as necessary/directed. Safety and Compliance Perform routine safety checks of door lock systems, water temperatures, etc., as directed and in accordance with established procedures. Assure that appropriate caution/safety signs are properly set up before performing floor cleaning duties and removed/stored in a timely fashion after the floor is dry. Cleaning and Sanitation Clean/polish furnishings, floors, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc., in resident cottages/apartments, clubhouse/common areas, offices, etc. Clean and sanitize vacant cottages/apartments as assigned. Event and Setup Support Set up and take down tables, chairs, and equipment for indoor or outdoor functions as directed. Housekeeping and Backup Support Provide occasional backup support for housekeeping duties.
