About this Opportunity: This position assists the Maintenance Supervisor in all maintenance, repair and construction. Responsibilities: Maintains all machinery, including both repair and routine maintenance. Maintains facilities, including circuit wiring, carpentry, sheetrock work, data and phone wiring, and air lines. Assists the Maintenance Supervisor with records preparation and updates when requested. May be given specific projects to accomplish or manage, such as overseeing lubrication, specific facilities projects, major repair projects, etc. Requirements Must possess adequate experience in general maintenance and/or construction to have developed the skills listed above. Some of the experience must have been in a sheet metal fabrication facility or machine shop with similar equipment to that used at Vander-Bend Manufacturing. Moderate knowledge of most sheet metal machinery, including routine maintenance and repair. Ability to accomplish most skilled carpentry work such as metal and wood framing, sheet rock and basic cabinetry. Mid-level electrical skills including ability to do the following with some supervision: Run conduit, add circuits to existing panels, add simple sub-panels, and work with 3 phase wiring. Some familiarity with hazardous material laws and regulations including handling, labeling, and disposal. This should not be a requirement for obtaining this position but should be a skill developed during tenure as a maintenance mechanic. Some familiarity with MSDS requirements. This should not be a requirement for obtaining this position but should be a skill developed during tenure as a maintenance mechanic. Must be able to read and properly interpret construction blueprints and machine mechanical drawings. Should have some familiarity with basic machine electrical schematics. Occasional heavy lifting and manipulation of heavy machinery. Vander-Bend Forklift training & certification.
