Description The Maintenance Technician Apprentice is an entry-level role designed to develop foundational maintenance skills in a manufacturing environment. Under the direct guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor and senior maintenance personnel, the Apprentice assists with basic repairs, preventive maintenance tasks, and facility upkeep. This role provides hands-on training and progressive skill development to prepare the employee for advancement to a full Maintenance Technician position. The Maintenance Technician Apprentice is expected to maintain a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and commitment to safety. Requirements Daily On-Site Attendance. · Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machines, tools, and facility systems. · Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment issues. · Install new or replacement machinery and equipment according to specifications. · Respond promptly to breakdowns and maintenance requests to minimize production interruptions. · Document all maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). · Identify potential reliability issues and recommend solutions to the Maintenance Supervisor. · Use diagnostic tools, schematics, and manuals to ensure accurate troubleshooting. · Support predictive maintenance programs, such as vibration analysis, thermography, and lubrication checks. · Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA standards and company safety policies. · Maintain shop areas, tools, and parts inventory in a clean, organized, and safe condition. · Coordinate with Production and Engineering teams to schedule maintenance without disrupting operations. · Participate in safety and 5S initiatives, daily meetings, and continuous improvement projects. · Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment or system upgrades. · Perform basic fabrication, welding, or electrical wiring as required for equipment upkeep. · Provide input to improve maintenance procedures and equipment performance. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but works under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and collaborates closely with Maintenance Technicians and Production personnel. Environment/Physical Requirements The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. • Ability to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery. • Must be able to visually inspect and work around energized or moving equipment safely. • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the manufacturing facility. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with a rotating schedule. Shifts may include: • 4:00 AM – 12:30 PM • 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM • 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM • 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM Occasional overtime, extended hours, or weekend work may be required based on production needs. Travel Travel is not required for this position. Education and Experience • High school diploma or GED required. • Minimum 4 years of industrial maintenance experience required. • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. • Familiarity with maintenance tools, diagnostic equipment, and CMMS systems preferred. • Welding, fabrication, or PLC experience a plus.
