Job Description Overview: Maintenance Technician Maintenance Technician is responsible for equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and repair. Must be capable of doing all work with little or no supervision. Assists the supervisor in making economic decisions on the repair of equipment. Maintains a neat and orderly work area. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Perform calibration testing of temperature probes and torque wrenches as needed. * Maintain and log calibration test results. * Maintain safe and clean work area. * Perform basic operator maintenance. (grease equipment, clean filters, change small fittings) * Safety check equipment at facility * Complete electronic training monthly * Participate in daily shift meetings * Perform daily preventative maintenance on equipment as needed * Comply with all company policies and procedures * Identify safety hazards in the workplace * Any other duties assigned by manager Requirements: * High School Graduate or equivalent * Experience with heavy equipment (forklift, front loader, etc.) * Extensive hand/ power tool experience * Basic math, reading comprehension, and writing skills * Work long hours doing repetitive motions in any weather * Ability to work M-F 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM with mandatory overtime (OT after normal shift and weekends) * Work weekends as needed * Manages time effectively * Must be willing to help out in other departments as needed * Ability to work independently or as a team * Ability to read and write in English * Dependable * Must pass background check and drug screening Preferred Requirements: * Prior Maintenance background * Safety (OSHA) experience * Experience with basic welding Physical Demands & Work Conditions * Must pass a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screening * Able to stand for long periods of time with limited breaks * Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds * Work in extreme temperatures and elements for an extended period of time * Must be able to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and smell * Must be able to work in confined spaces * Must be able to work at elevated heights * May encounter fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; risk of radiation and vibration * Work near moving mechanical parts and in a loud environment * Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
