Walker Tape is hiring a Maintenance Technician to join our team! Job Summary Our Maintenance Technicians are responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment to minimize downtime and support operations. This role includes performing preventative maintenance, assisting with installations and fabrication, and ensuring accurate documentation while adhering to safety standards. Duties/Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance Perform routine preventative maintenance and repairs on machinery, equipment, and systems to ensure proper functionality and minimize downtime. Assist in prolonging the life of machinery by addressing potential issues proactively. Troubleshooting Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and system problems, and develop effective solutions. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, minimizing disruptions to operations. Computerized Maintenance Management (CMMS) Utilize a CMMS to log all preventive maintenance tasks, work orders, and emergency repairs. Provide detailed records of actions performed, such as notes, time tracking, and findings, to support data-driven decisions. Equipment Installation and Fabrication Assist in the installation or relocation of new and existing equipment, ensuring proper setup and functionality. Fabricate, machine, and repair parts as needed using shop tools and machinery (e.g., MIG, TIG welding, mills, lathes, etc.). Collaboration and Communication Work closely with other departments to coordinate maintenance efforts, equipment installations, and relocations. Communicate effectively with supervisors, equipment operators, and coworkers regarding maintenance schedules, findings, and updates. Safety Compliance Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations while performing maintenance tasks. Proactively identify and address potential safety hazards in the workplace. Facility Maintenance Perform additional tasks as needed, including maintenance of HVAC systems, compressors, and facility lighting. Support general maintenance of the overall facility as required. Documentation Keep detailed and accurate records of all maintenance activities. Provide findings and reports to the Maintenance Manager or supervisory team as requested. Additional Duties Perform other related duties as assigned. Remain flexible and prepared to undertake tasks beyond the listed responsibilities. Education/Experience Minimum 3 years of experience in Maintenance Mechanic roles within manufacturing or other industrial environments. Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance best practices. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Technical degree or certification in mechanical maintenance is a plus. Demonstrate our Core Values and a focus on great company culture. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of standing and walking. Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and perform other common movements. Must be able to visually inspect machines.
