SUMMARY Responsible for insuring the Turf and Dirt Tracks are properly maintained for horse racing and training.   ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Upkeep of the Race Track  – Operate tractors on both tracks with specific equipment between daily races and as needed to prepare/insure safe conditions for the horses to use the tracks 2. Operate company equipment including water truck and motor grader as needed to maintain the dirt track.  3. Maintain the turf track with daily watering. 4. Maintain mowing, weeding and hedge maintenance. 5. Assist other Team Members with duties. 6. All other duties as assigned.   REPORTING LINE You will report directly to the Track Superintendent then to the Director of Maintenance.   QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS * Must have excellent communication skills, be polite, and present a neat appearance at all times.  * The ability to work with others as a team in an efficient manner.  * Ability to use all necessary tools and equipment for the task. * Ability to recognize/remedy safety concerns and utilize all personal protective equipment as required.                             * Time management & priority setting and work independently. * Horse track equipment – motor grader, tractors, water trucks, mowing equipment, snow blowers, drag screens, floats, and others  * You must be at least 21 years old * Obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and the ability to be covered under Mountaineer Casino Insurance for driving our vehicles. * You must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain and maintain a WV Racing License.    EDUCATIONAL AND/OR EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or Equivalent.   REASONING ABILITY The ability to trouble shoot and resolve issues.   PHYSICAL DEMANDS * You will need to be able Sitting/Standing, Lifting, Kneeling, Bending, Walking/Stretching, Pushing/Pulling, Climbing/Reaching for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.     WORK ENVIRONMENT Will be exposed to working in a noisy, smoke/secondary smoke environment and seasonal elements.

Responsible for the daily maintenance and upkeep of turf and dirt horse racing tracks to ensure safe conditions. Duties include operating heavy machinery, watering tracks, and performing general landscaping tasks.
