SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Work Activity Coordinator serves as the site’s lead tactical maintenance planner, ensuring that all maintenance and turnaround activities are effectively prepared, scheduled, and executed. This role partners daily with operations, engineering, the MRO coordinator, and contractors to develop comprehensive job packages, verify readiness, and provide timely job status updates. The Coordinator identifies and secures required materials, equipment, and resources, prioritizes emergency work, and removes obstacles to keep jobs on track. Responsibilities include documenting work, closing work orders, and maintaining accurate spare parts identification within inventory systems. The role also holds contractors accountable for completing work safely and correctly while optimizing resource use for maximum efficiency and productivity. In addition, the Coordinator provides support for capital projects at both the SF Plant and Warehouse.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in Chemical Manufacturing
  • Ability to develop and interpret detailed job plans and packages.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment, valves, actuators, gaskets, pumps, piping, torque, welding, and related specifications.
  • Proficiency with CMMS systems (IBM Maximo or similar) and maintenance information systems (work order, purchasing, planning, scheduling, pipe specifications).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with EH&S and training tools (e.g., Intelex).
  • Understanding process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and process equipment locations.
  • Knowledge of Critical Path Methodology, Gantt and PERT scheduling, and resource-loading techniques.
  • Familiarity with Global Mechanical Integrity Safety Standards, LOPA, BPCS, and SIS requirements.
  • Knowledge of construction and turnaround safety standards.
  • Experience with root cause investigation methodologies.
  • Strong project management and contractor management experience.
  • Ability to estimate job durations and resource needs based on historical data.
  • Understanding of materials of construction and ability to specify parts for purchasing (including cost and delivery considerations).
