MAINTENANCE WORKER REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Electrical experience required.
Install and wire new equipment, able to work with 120V-360V systems, troubleshoot electrical panels.
Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment - electrical and mechanical systems.
Basic welding experience is required to perform repairs, modifications, and fabrication.
Proven experience as a maintenance worker or other similar position.
Diagnose and repair motors, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors and other machinery.
Ability to use power tools, hand tools, and diagnostic equipment safely.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures.
Dependability and reliability; demonstration of regular and punctual attendance.

Responsibilities

ROLE DESCRIPTION

This is a full-time on-site role for a Bakery Maintenance Worker located in Calgary, Alberta. The Bakery Maintenance Worker will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks related to equipment in the bakery and general building maintenance. Specifically, for this position, we are looking for Maintenance with Electrical knowledge and experience.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and taking direction from the Production Manager and Production Supervisors - the Maintenance Worker is responsible for following through on assigned maintenance tasks to ensure the facility and production equipment is continuously operating and properly maintained.
* Weekend work as required – particularly surrounding special projects.
* Overtime is required sometimes without notice in Emergency situations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial production equipment.
Responds to maintenance calls with a sense of urgency.
Ensure that all maintenance schedules and preventative maintenance reports are maintained and followed.
Maintains accurate & timely records of daily logs, work orders, compliance documents, and PM sheets.
Conduct parts and tools reconciliations after every repair and on every shift to ensure no parts or tools have been left behind on the production line.
Inform the Maintenance Supervisor when inventory becomes low.
Ensure all company standards and polices are followed (e.g., HACCP, SSOP, GMP, BRC, OH&S) when providing daily production/maintenance service.
Report any maintenance issues or concerns on a daily basis to the Maintenance Supervisor and Production Supervisors.
Properly clean and store tools that were used for repairing equipment.
Be prepared to help other co-workers in the event of an emergency.
Report any food safety or mechanical problems (e.g., leaking oil, worn belts, peeling paint) etc.
Use effective listening, verbal and non-verbal skills to communicate with other co-workers.
Get along with other co-workers through co-operation and taking initiative to help others without being asked.
Maintain a safe workplace and follow all required Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures including the use of lockouts, WHMIS procedures, the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) for all chemicals used in the facility, and the wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment, (PPE) and other safety equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
