We invite applications for the position of full-time Maintenance Worker to join our facilities team. This position is required to perform general maintenance to all NCC site locations in and around the Edmonton area. A company vehicle will be provided. General hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional overtime and night shifts for snow removal and special events may be required.

Responsibilities

The Maintenance Worker will perform maintenance and repairs related to buildings, grounds and equipment in relation to, but not limited to, emergency lighting, window cleaning, seasonal sidewalk maintenance, site inspections, grounds-keeping and pressure washing at North Central Co-op locations.

  • Ensure buildings and equipment meet all safety, security and fire regulations and policies.
  • Establishes, monitors and carries out preventative maintenance procedures and schedules for buildings, equipment and grounds.
  • Conduct routine inspections of location premises and equipment.
  • Under the guidance of the Facilities Manager, perform repairs such as light carpentry, changing light bulbs/ballasts installing switches, interior/exterior painting, replacing sinks and toilets and applying finishing material such as linoleum and completing compressor oil changes.
  • Support other maintenance staff and departments by delivering and picking up BBQ trailer, skid steers, scissor lift, picking up parts and delivering them to site locations.
  • Snow removal and landscaping duties.
  • Partner with our Health, Safety and Wellness Specialists and Asset Protection Specialist to ensure compliance with building safety codes, fire plans and other regulations.
