Your Opportunity:
This position reports to the Manager of Facilities Maintenance & Engineering and is responsible for the hands-on completion on work assignments using good judgement in accordance with all applicable codes and Hospital Policy & Procedures. The Maintenance Worker II is primarily assigned to grounds and structural, with the potential to also be assigned to perform additional duties or assist in plumbing, HVAC/refrigeration, and electrical duties. The incumbent performs a variety of highly skilled and complex maintenance and repair duties, requiring the use of schematics, blueprints and specifications. The Maintenance Worker II is also responsible for maintenance-related record-keeping. Responsibilities include participation in activities and initiative aimed at promoting, maintaining and improving quality and safety for patients, families and caregivers. The primary location will be at the Gene Zwozdesky Centre but if an event unfolds, this person may be asked to work at other sites within the zone. Potential multi-site duties as directed by FM&E Director or Management.
Description:
As a Maintenance Worker II, you may perform routine preventative and demand maintenance activities within the exterior and interior of the building. Under general supervision, you may perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and repair work on facility architectural, structural and mechanical systems/components to ensure safety and efficient operation of the building systems and equipment. You may perform a wide range of general maintenance duties including maintenance and repair of drywall, floors and painting. Additional duties may include minor plumbing repair; minor repairs on equipment; checks on equipment for pressure and temperature; and disassembly of equipment for cleaning.
