OVERVIEW

Luther Court Society is a 75,000 square foot senior residence located in Victoria, B.C. The facility includes complex care beds, independent and assisted living apartments, a community health centre, an in-house commercial kitchen, and laundry facilities. The Maintenance Worker adds to the quality of life to people who call Luther Court home and use Luther Court services by ensuring that the facilities and grounds are well maintained.
According to established policies and safety practices, the Maintenance Worker ll performs a variety of general maintenance duties including painting, preparing apartments for new tenants and care rooms for new residents, janitorial, general grounds and building maintenance, room set-up, and ordering and receiving of supplies. The successful candidate must have as least one year of basic carpentry, electrical and plumbing experience and be able to work at least one day on the weekend. This is a casual position with the Hospital Employees Union, and the salary and benefits follow the Master Agreement of HEU.

Skills and Abilities

  • Familiarity with CMMS software for tracking maintenance tasks and schedules.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge related to machinery operation and repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics for effective troubleshooting of systems.
  • Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with team members and clients.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position

Responsibilities
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on machinery, electrical systems, and plumbing as required.
