Description

OBJECTIVE: Complete general maintenance and repairs along with all general upkeep of the farm, directed by the manager and supported by PRM. Timely and quality work and respect to the facilities while working. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (other duties as assigned) * Assisting with a variety of repairs across the farm * Assist with composting procedures * Operation of heavy equipment; tractors, payloaders, etc. * Exterior facility upkeep, not limited to snow removal, lawn care, general upkeep * Assist transport with washing if needed POSITION SPECIFICATIONS Experience: One year mechanical-related experience Strong desire to learn equipment operations and perform repairs and maintenance Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with operational leaders Profit driven, customer oriented and have the ability to apply independent thinking and judgment to address conflict resolution Work Environment: Agricultural swine environment in rural area Noise levels that require hearing protection in some areas Physical Requirements: Standing, walking and ability to be on feet 8 to 10 hours per day Frequent bending, reaching, squatting and kneeling Frequent use of one or both hands/arms to grasp or pull Frequent lifting of objects weighing 3-20 pounds Occasional bending while pulling and/or lifting objects weighing up to 100 pounds or requiring up to 100 pounds of force to move with the assistance of another person as needed Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Ability to attend and participate in meetings of various lengths Additional Requirements: Must qualify to drive a company vehicle per insurance company requirements based on MVR

The Maintenance Worker is responsible for general maintenance and repairs on the farm, including assisting with various repairs and operating heavy equipment. They will also be involved in exterior facility upkeep and composting procedures.
