We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Person (Handyman) to join our team. JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Hotel Maintenance Person is responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of the hotel to ensure a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for guests and staff. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience and strong knowledge in plumbing and electrical work.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience in a maintenance or handyman role, preferably in hospitality
  • Strong working knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems is required
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks
  • Basic knowledge of safety procedures and general building code
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Must be physically fit and able to lift/carry items as needed
  • Flexibility with schedule and availability for emergency calls
Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs
  • Troubleshoot and repair minor plumbing issues (e.g., unclog drains, fix leaks, replace fixtures)
  • Handle basic electrical tasks (e.g., replace light fixtures, reset breakers, repair outlets)
  • Inspect and maintain general building systems including mechanical and safety systems
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to avoid costly repairs
  • Repair or replace damaged guestroom items such as furniture, doors, and equipment
  • Maintain exterior of the property including walkways, parking lot, and signage
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and hotel policies
  • Respond promptly to maintenance service requests from hotel staff or guests
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies in good condition
  • Collaborate with outside contractors when specialized repairs are needed
  • Keep maintenance logs and documentation as required
