REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in building maintenance, custodial work, or repair services
  • Knowledge of safety protocols, basic carpentry, and general repairs
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items and operate basic tools and machinery Equivalency will be considered. Knowledge of First Nations service environments and respect for culturally sensitive spaces is an asset.

Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Maintenance Worker supports the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of Payukotayno buildings, equipment, and surrounding properties. This role is responsible for routine facility inspections, minor repairs, and service coordination that promote safe and accessible working and service environments.
Operating with care and respect for the needs of children, families, staff, and visitors, this role reflects the Omushkego value of stewardship and helps ensure our spaces are welcoming and secure.

3. OPERATIONAL AND LOGISTICAL DUTIES

  • Transport and set up furniture, supplies, or materials for agency events or office relocations
  • Assist with receiving, moving, and storing deliveries, surplus items, or donations
  • Keep maintenance tools and storage areas organized and in good condition
