Description PRN (as needed) Maintenance worker position - provides general maintenance support to install, maintain and repair machinery, equipment, physical structure(s), heating/ventilation/air conditioning systems, plumbing and electrical systems at Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center/Veteran's Community Living Center. Pay: $22.46 per hour Essential Functions: • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment according to a monthly scheduled preventive maintenance program and/or manufacturer’s instructions. • Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with chain-of-command or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem and complete repairs. • Order needed repair parts from appropriate vendors. • Dismantle defective machinery and equipment; install new or repaired parts when necessary. • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearing, gears and other part of machinery when necessary. • Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as, wiring and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment. • Lay out, assemble, install and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment. • Complete SPRHC grounds maintenance including mowing operations, snow removal, parking lot maintenance, sidewalk upkeep, safety standards for adherence to guidelines for operation of a Critical Access Hospital and/or Veterans Community Living Center. • Repairs and maintains physical structure of SPRHC. • May operate cutting torch or welding equipment as necessary. • Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions and other wooden structures. • Patch and paint walls in rooms, offices and corridors. Requirements High School Diploma is required. Minimum of two years of prior work experience in grounds upkeep/maintenance work is preferred. • Ability to operate general machinery including: tractor, gas-powered vehicle, lawn mower and related mowing equipment. • Ability to operate properly a variety of hand tools, i.e.: hammer, pliers, level, saw. • Ability to operate general office equipment including computer software applications (e-mail, surveillance equipment/cameras). • Ability to understand and complete tasks with verbal direction; ability to complete necessary documentation regarding completion of project. • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the public, other agencies, employees and administration.
