Description Job Summary: The hotel Maintenance Worker is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning, upkeep, and safety of the hotel's physical facilities, equipment, and systems. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining a pleasant and comfortable environment for guests and staff by addressing maintenance requests and performing routine repairs. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Requirements Duties/Responsibilities: Performs routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry repairs. Responds promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff, addressing issues efficiently and effectively. Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and makes necessary repairs to minimize downtime. Conducts regular inspections of hotel rooms, public areas, and facilities to identify maintenance needs and potential hazards. Implements preventive maintenance schedules for equipment, systems, and facilities to ensure longevity and reliability. Ensures compliance with safety regulations and protocols while performing maintenance activities. Maintains a safe and clean work environment, promptly addressing any safety concerns. Required to be available for on-call maintenance during emergencies and quickly address urgent situations to ensure guest safety and comfort. Monitors inventory levels of maintenance supplies and equipment, and report shortages or needs to the appropriate manager. Maintains and organizes tools and equipment for efficient use. Keeps detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and preventive maintenance schedules. Provides reports to supervisors on completed tasks and ongoing projects. Coordinates with other hotel departments to schedule maintenance activities that minimize guest disruptions. Collaborates with external contractors when needed for specialized repairs or projects. Other duties as assigned by management. Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to work collaboratively with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure efficient operations and guest satisfaction. Strong technical skills and hands-on experience in maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints. Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good communication skills for interacting with guests, staff, and external contractors. Adherence to the hotel's dress code and maintaining a neat and professional appearance at all times. Reliable and punctual. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Read, write, and speak English fluently. Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on the hotel's operational needs. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. Vocational training or certification in maintenance or a related field is a plus. Prior experience in hotel maintenance or a similar role is preferred. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy items, such as equipment and supplies up to 50 lbs., to assist with room renovations and maintenance tasks. Proficient in safely pushing and pulling carts, trolleys, and equipment, both indoors and outdoors. Capable of bending, stooping, and kneeling to perform maintenance tasks in various areas of the hotel. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while assisting with maintenance tasks throughout the hotel premises. Comfortable with climbing ladders, stairs, and step stools to access elevated areas and perform maintenance tasks. Able to manipulate power tools, parts, and equipment with precision. Able to have clear vision for inspecting equipment, identifying issues, and reading technical documents. Able to have good auditory perception is important for detecting equipment malfunctions and responding to alarms. Comfortable performing job requirements by working indoors and outdoors with exposure to varying weather conditions.
