Job Description – Maintenance Worker Position Title: Maintenance Worker Location: Montclair/Elizabeth/Bloomfield/Newark areas Position Summary The Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of the facility This role supports a clean, safe, and functional environment for residents and staff by addressing maintenance needs in a timely and efficient manner. Key Responsibilities Perform general building maintenance and repairs, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting. Complete preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair needs. Inspect facility systems and equipment to identify and resolve issues. Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and repair records. Assist with maintaining inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies; notify management when replacements are needed. Support seasonal tasks such as snow removal, landscaping, and minor groundskeeping. Follow all OSHA safety standards, building codes, and company policies. Work collaboratively with management and staff to address operational maintenance needs. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational training in building maintenance preferred. Minimum of 2–3 years of general maintenance experience preferred. Basic knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, etc.). Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively. Strong problem-solving and time-management skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Work Environment This position requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.). May require occasional evening, weekend, or on-call hours for emergencies.
