Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW & PROJECT:

We are looking for a highly motivated MAIT Engineer (f/m/d) to join our innovative In-Space Manufacturing team.
You will join the rapid growth of in-space manufactured infrastructure as the industry calls for increased power for a growing range of applications, like data processing and transmission or in-orbit transportation and servicing.
In your role, you will support the development activities of this groundbreaking technology, including the design and production of breadboards, the execution of testing and qualification activities, as well as the assembly and integration of flight hardware. Your work will directly impact the success of our space missions and enable the deployment of critical components in orbit.

TASKS

  • Daily, you will be solving problems – most likely ones that no one has run into before and support the In-Space Manufacturing (ISM) team with the development of custom Mechanical Systems & Hardware
  • Design mechanical breadboards and GSEs
  • Produce engineering drawings and coordinate production of mechanical parts with external suppliers
  • Manufacture mechanical parts in-house (eg CNC milling of metal parts, FDM and SLS printing of polymers)
  • Assemble prototypes and flight hardware
  • Perform testing activities from component to system level
  • Participate in qualification campaigns and acceptance testing of flight hardware
  • Support customer during final integration of our payloads
  • Produce technical documentation and participate in reviews with external stakeholders
