Description Now Hiring: Maitre D' at Élephante Location: Santa Monica, CA Wage: $22 - $25 per hour + tips Job Type: Full-time/Part-time Élephante, the iconic rooftop restaurant in Santa Monica, is seeking an experienced and hospitality-driven Maitre D’ to join our team. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will manage reservations, seating arrangements, and ensure a seamless dining experience. About the Role As a Maitre D’, you will oversee the flow of service by managing reservations, walk-ins, and seating assignments while maintaining a polished and professional presence. Your role is key in ensuring an exceptional guest experience from arrival to departure. What You’ll Do Greet guests warmly and manage check-ins for reservations and walk-ins Organize and oversee the reservation book to maximize seating efficiency Maintain cleanliness and organization of the entrance area and venue Assist with incoming calls and guest inquiries Strategically seat guests to balance service and enhance the guest experience Support the dining room team with initial table setup and guest accommodations Prepare and organize menus, ensuring all materials are updated and available Follow all opening, closing, and sanitation procedures Communicate effectively with management, kitchen, and service staff to ensure seamless operations Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism and teamwork What We’re Looking For Previous hospitality experience required Prior Maitre D’ or front-of-house leadership experience preferred Experience in a high-volume, upscale restaurant environment Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced setting Professional appearance and demeanor Must be able to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Why Join Us?
