Essence of the role The Major Donor Specialist builds and deepens philanthropic relationships that turn generosity into measurable impact across HammondCare. This role leads purposeful, insightdriven engagement with major donors, Trusts & Foundations and corporate partners—ensuring supporters feel connected to mission, inspired by outcomes and valued as longterm partners in care and innovation. Working closely with the Head of Foundation & Innovation, the Major Donor Specialist helps shape and deliver HammondCare’s major gifts strategy, translating complex programs and innovation priorities into compelling opportunities for investment. Through thoughtful research, personalised stewardship and highquality proposals, the role fuels compassionate care, research translation, innovation pilots and futurefocused development. As a connector across the Hammond Foundation, Hammond Innovations and wider fundraising streams, the role ensures a coordinated, highvalue donor experience and contributes to a culture of philanthropy, collaboration and continuous improvement across the organisation. This role is preferably based at HammondCare’s Head Office in St Leonards and is offered on a permanent fulltime basis, with parttime arrangements considered for the right candidate. At its core, this role exists to strengthen trust, inspire investment and ensure philanthropy delivers lasting improvements in quality of life for people with complex care needs. This role will: Build and steward deep, trust‑based relationships with major donors, Trusts & Foundations and corporate partners. Translate HammondCare’s mission, innovation priorities and programs into compelling opportunities for philanthropic investment. Shape and deliver major gifts strategy in partnership with the Head of Foundation & Innovation. Deliver personalised, insight‑led cultivation and stewardship that inspires long‑term donor commitment. Develop high‑quality proposals, cases for support, briefings and bespoke donor communications. Ensure major donors experience a coordinated, high‑value journey across all fundraising channels. Contribute to a strong culture of philanthropy, collaboration and fundraising excellence across HammondCare. Convert generosity into measurable outcomes that improve quality of life for people with complex care needs. Experience and Skills Commitment to HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action. Demonstrated success securing major gifts or highvalue partnerships from HNWIs, corporates or Trusts & Foundations. Strong experience in relationshipbased fundraising, corporate partnerships, business development or senior sales roles. Exceptional communication and writing skills — capable of crafting compelling philanthropic proposals and correspondence. Confident relationship builder with the ability to engage senior business leaders and philanthropists. Highly organised, proactive and insightdriven, with experience managing pipelines, researching prospects and prioritising competing demands. Collaborative, adaptable and comfortable working in a resourcelean, highambition environment. Highly Regarded: Experience developing or leading a major gifts or high‑value partnerships program.
