WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking an experienced Projects Officer to join our team - our preferred candidate will have:

  • A Building trade qualification or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in writing specifications and scope of works, reviewing plans and estimating costs and quantities of building works
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian standard
  • Experienced in digital drawing programs such as CAD

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to work with an ever-changing dynamic team within the Mid-Western Regional Council.
This role is a full-time role, based on site in Mudgee with a work vehicle available to use during the shift.
The salary range being offered for this full-time position is $3,246-$3,653 gross per fortnight plus superannuation which equates to an annual salary of $84,406- $94,991 gross plus superannuation (dependent on skills, qualifications and experience).

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide support to Manager, Major Projects throughout the duration of projects to resolve technical, contract and project management issues and optimise through the considered implementation of appropriate procedures, guidelines, processes and practices.
  • Ensure internal and external service providers are managed effectively
  • Development of high-quality documentation and effectively managing of the procurement process
  • Provide effective and efficient projects management administration, ensuring that components of projects are in line with council objectives and are completed within the required scope, timeframes, costs and quality products in line with the Building Code Australia and any relevant standards that the project is requiring.
  • Apply appropriate procedures, guidelines, policies and practices to ensure work health safety requirements are incorporated into project and contract documentation.
  • Preparation of buildings specifications and provide estimates for building projectsTo actively promote and demonstrate the core values and behavioural requirements of the Workplace Environment Statement
