Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re seeking dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our supportive teams in Lane Cove Community Access Service and Beaumont Hills Community Access Service. In this role, you’ll assist a group of clients with intellectual disabilities accessing the community and achieving their goals. They enjoy engaging in creative and sensory activities, cooking and getting out into the community. You’ll be a key part of helping them achieve greater independence and joy in their daily lives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Deliver active support aligned with each client’s goals and support plans

  • Assist with daily personal care tasks (e.g., toileting, showering, dressing)

  • Use safe manual handling techniques in accordance with individual plans
  • Facilitate community access and transport using Unisson vehicles or public transport
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, families and external stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reports and records
  • Work collaboratively within a close-knit team
  • Respond appropriately to incidents in line with Unisson and NDIS guidelines
