ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 6 months working as a disability support worker or completion of relevant education and job training in disability support or related field.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in relevant software or applications for documentation and reporting.
  • Familiarity with relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Experience in developing and implementing care plans.
  • Knowledge of disability-related assistive technologies.
  • Capability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
  • Awareness of mental health considerations in disability support.
  • Familiarity with therapeutic interventions and strategies.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Ability to operate assistive devices and equipment.
  • Understanding of behavior management techniques.

Candidate strict requirements:

  • Current CPR & First Aid certification.
  • National Police Check & NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Working with Childrens Check
  • NDIS Workers Orientation Certificate
  • Valid Australian Drivers Licence & Own vehicle
  • Form of Government Identification: Passport and Birth Certificate
  • Certificate in Disability Services/Community Services or relevant qualifications and experience

We are actively seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability/Mental Health Support Worker to join our team, providing essential care to NDIS participants. Our service areas span across various locations in Melbourne, with our central office situated in Narre Warren, VIC. In this crucial role, you will directly impact the health and well-being of our clients by delivering top-tier care in both home and community settings. Your commitment to providing compassionate support is key to enhancing the lives of those we serve.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Provide the best quality of care to our participants.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

Promote and help participant with showering & personal care
Help make breakfast or lunch
Assist and encourage community engagement
Accomplish house cleaning (laundry, mopping, etc)

Medication reminder

  • Required availability:

Monday to Saturday

  • Assist participants with daily living tasks and independent skills at home and in the community -including providing transport to appointments and activities.
  • Provide personal care: personal hygiene and grooming
  • Support with light domestic duties, including meal preparations and cleaning
  • Arrange social activities with participants
  • Deliver individual support as per individual NDIS plans and goals
  • Document services delivered, including but not limited to; shift notes, incident reports, medication management, and more
  • Schedule: Morning shift and afternoon shift
